What it is
The Swan Neck is a flute head joint that has a bend of approximately 40 degrees. It is handmade from sterling silver, with a handcut embouchure. It comes in a small, very light instrument case, which also contains a thumb rest. The thumb rest simply clicks on your flute and you can leave it there. 

What it does
The Swan Neck flute headjoint turns the strenuous position for playing the flute into a relaxed one. With the Swan Neck, you will feel much less stress on your right shoulder, your neck and your left shoulder. The Swan neck takes your flute out of the danger zone and brings it into the easy zone.

When you play an ordinary flute, the asymmetry in your posture goes right down to your feet. When you play a swan neck flute, you will feel your feet planted firmly to the ground.
